Day 1

Leave bandage on your fresh tattoo for no longer than two hours. Do not reapply any bandage to your tattoo.

  1. After removing the bandage, do a warm-water rinse by letting warm water flow over the tattoo. Do not apply soap or scrub your tattoo. Let your tattoo air-dry. Do not use a wash cloth when cleaning your tattoo and avoid drying it with a towel.

  2. When the tattoo has air-dried, mist a generous layer of Bactine over the tattoo. Allow the Bactine to dry completely before dressing in loose clothing. Make sure all bedding is clean and free of pet dander to ensure a safe heal.

Day 2 - Day 14

Repeat warm water rinse and Bactine 2-3 times a day. After the first 24-hours you can apply a minimal amount of fragrance and dye-free lotion to relieve any tightness or itching sensation. Your tattoo should appear dry, not oily or pasty.

  1. Re-apply lotion daily as needed, use sparingly and only when needed. Follow this process until tattoo is fully healed. (About 2 weeks)

  2. Do not pick or scratch a fresh tattoo. Flaking skin is normal and if scabs occur, be patient and allow them to heal naturally.

  3. Do not soak or submerge your tattoo in shared water (pools, lakes, bath tubs, etc.) for at least 3 weeks.

  4. Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight for at least 3 weeks. Sun exposure or the use of tanning beds at any point in your life will fade your tattoo.

Remember…

When you leave your tattoo is not finished. The healing process is a crucial part of how your tattoo will appear. It is not uncommon that a tattoo may need minor touch-ups, we offer free touch-ups as long as they are done within the first 6 months following the completion of the tattoo. Difficult healing areas such as feet, hips, hands and necks and joint areas are not guaranteed and are the clients responsibility. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your tattoo stop by or give us a call.
